What is bullying?

Bullying can happen to anyone at any time, so it is important we are aware of some of the facts in relation to bullying. Sometimes we hear the word ‘bully’ banded around quite freely. According to the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development:

“Bullying is repeated verbal, physical, social or psychological aggressive behaviour by a person or group directed towards a less powerful person or group that is intended to cause harm, distress or fear.” (Education.vic.gov website: 2014)
